The Doubling Point Range Lights are at a turn in the channel of the Kennebec River at Fiddler Reach just downstream from the Doubling Point Lighthouse.  The Doubling Point Range lights are a pair of octagonal wooden towers 235 yards apart.  When a mariner is navigating upstream, when the lights are lined up, he knows that he is in the channel.  Only the range light closest to the river is viewable from land without disturbing the privacy of the Coast Guard family who lives in the residence.

The Doubling Point front range light is shown in this image.  The walkway leading to the front range light then turns left and continues to the rear range light to provide access over the marshy ground in that area.  That I've never seen the rear range light gives me a good excuse to go back in the summer and take a trip up the Kennebec River by boat.
