In August 2005, I took a trip with the Wisconsin Lighthouse District or WILD organization on the Keweenaw Star. We cruised from Houghton through the Apostle Islands and through the Superior Entry past Wisconsin Point to Duluth before continuing along Minnesota's arrowhead coast to Two Harbors and Split Rock. While we were upbound, we had occasion to pass the ore hauler St Clair, which provided a unique opportunity to photograph a Great Laker in mid Lake Superior. We were also fortunate to be able to photograph the St Clair from the water as she passed through the Superior Entry on her way to the Superior, Wisconsin ore docks to take on a load of taconite pellets.
