The Orient Point lighthouse or the "Coffee Pot" as it was known to mariners, was constructed in 1899 at the end of Oyster Point Reef on the western side of Plum Gut in Long Island Sound. The light is three stories high and sits atop an iron caisson. In case the lighthouse looks like it's leaning, it is... it's actually 5 degrees out of plumb!
